WE WOULD LIKE YOUR VIEWS ON THIS

The NDCC Committee has become aware of a growing concern amongst exhibitors at Shows regarding cats entered in Imperial Classes also being entered in Grand Classes and even ordinary Open Classes.  This practice may seem questionable since such well qualified exhibits should not need to prove their worth over and over again at the lower levels.  The NDCC Committee seeks the views of other Committees and also our own membership as to whether this practice should be raised with Governing Council to see whether the Rules should be amended such that cats entered in Imperial Classes should be precluded from entering any other Open Classes.  If you have a view on this please send your comments to Peter Chaffe, Hon Secretary NDCC, email address - polapawzbirmans@hotmail.com

CLUB AWARDS

The Committee would like to remind members that the Club offers commemorative awards to their cats on being made up to Champion, Premier, Grand Champion or Grand Premier.  These may be claimed by sending a large SAE to our Show Support Secretary, Peter Chaffe (please refer to the Show Support Page for details).   At our Committee meeting in June the Committee approved additional awards for cats attaining Imperial Grand titles. These will take the form of more elaborate rosettes which will include a custom made centre engraved with the name and title of the cat.  Any member who qualifies for such a rosette should contact Peter Chaffe,  giving all the relevant details of the title won and their cat.

CLUB TROPHIES

Maureen Hardy, our former Cup Secretary carried out a thorough review of the Club Trophies at the end of 2006 and has reallocated some of the existing trophies to fill gaps.   The revised list which has been agreed by the Committee, is set out on the Trophy Page.

A list of redundant trophies and those reallocated was drawn up and the original donors notified, where possible to obtain their approval before final action was taken.  Surplus trophies, together with those which are considered too poor to keep, have been disposed of and any proceeds donated to the Welfare fund.

If any member wishes to comment on the revised list, or has any queries regarding Club trophies, please do not hesitate to contact the Hon Secretary (Tel. 01773 763337)  or our new Cup Secretary, Dr Katie Hewitt (Tel. 0115 8753023)
